Betty Rose Prosser

Betty Rose Prosser, 93 of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 peacefully at her home.  A Memorial Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Michael Kumm officiating.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com   Memorials may be sent to the family for designation at a later date.  Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Betty was born on December 24, 1927 in South Sioux City, Nebraska to Glen W. and Helen L. (Treadway) Dobney.  She received her education in South Sioux, graduating from South Sioux City High School.  She married Robert Prosser on March 9, 1948 in South Sioux City. 

Betty enjoyed a career in Hotel/Motel Management, having managed the Marina Inn for a short time before taking over management of the Travelodge Motel until her retirement. She enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizen Center, and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her sons Robert (Peggy) Prosser and Michael (Bonnie) Prosser, all of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Ronald (Nancy) Prosser of Kaleen, Texas; brothers Charles Dobney, and Danny (Beverly) Dobney; sisters Norma Troge, and Francis (Pete) Mortenson; 8 grandchildren Lisa Tarno, Lori Jessip, Bobbi Jo Harsma, Michael Prosser, Michelle Prosser, Matthew Prosser, Clint Prosser, and Angie Prosser; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1995, brother Jim, and sisters Dorothy, June, and Edna.
