Betty B. Watchorn

Betty B. Watchorn, 87, of Ponca, NE passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, NE.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Lorri Kentner officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.Betty was born in rural Martinsburg, NE on January 29, 1929, the daughter of Luther and Laura (Kirk) Foulks. She attended country school and graduated from Ponca High School in 1947. Betty married Edward Watchorn on May 2, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Ponca. She farmed with Edward, raising a family. She also worked at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.Betty was a member of the Ponca American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending sporting events for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and crocheting.Survivors include her husband, Edward Watchorn; children, Gene Watchorn and his life partner, Julie, Thomas Watchorn and his special friend, April, Rebekah (Tom) Davenport, Richard (Mary) Watchorn, George (Amy) Watchorn; 15 grandchildren, Gena (Andy) Christofferson, Adam (Kim) Watchorn, Mandy McDowell, Lori (Mike) Baker, Kerri Watchorn, Missy Watchorn, Christopher Watchorn, Lucas (Ashley) Snodgrass, Paul Snodgrass, Matt Watchorn, Brandon Watchorn, Josh Watchorn, Andrew Watchorn and fiance, Jessica Flowers, Patrick Watchorn and Elizabeth Watchorn; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Velma Watchorn; brother, Merle Foulks; and many nieces and nephews.Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Laura Foulks; 1 great-granddaughter, Kylie; brother, George (Violet) Foulks; sister, Orma Foulks; brother-in-law, Glenn Watchorn; and sister-in-law, Irma Foulks.
