Bill C. McPherson, 90, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 5, 2021. A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Bill was born the son of John and Florence (Kellogg) McPherson on October 2, 1931 in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended Central High School. Bill married Marlene Meyer on September 11, 1960 in Paullina, Iowa. Bill worked in sales for Roberts Dairy and then for Metz Baking Company until his retirement.
Bill had a great love for his family and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bill will fondly be remembered as one of the best storytellers ever. Bill was an avid fisherman. Fishing trips to Chamberlain South Dakota, Canada, Minnesota or just down on the river bank were many and oftentimes he was accompanied by either his wife, his son, or his grandson. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, and horses in his younger years .
He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a 50-year member of the North Riverside Masonic Lodge #662.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marlene McPherson of Sioux City; children, Tom (Cindy) McPherson of South Sioux City and Pam (Phil) Harder of Marion; grandchildren, Tara (Trent) Condon, Melissa (Jason) Guthmiller, Jessica Mellma, Michael (Julianne) Harder, Elizabeth Harder, and Rachel Cleveland; and great-grandchildren, Ella, Jack, Kailey, Alex, Aden, Carter, and Caleb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cathy McPherson; grandson, Zane Cleveland; and siblings, Bud, John, Charles, Betty, Frances, Joyce, and Darlene.
