Bradford Kent Dillard Sr., 73, of Sioux City has Gone Home to be with Jesus on December 1, 2020.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020 at Loving Faith Fellowship, 5700 Bushnell Ave, in Sioux City with Pastor Patrick L. Burgess officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Brad was born at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to Tracy L Dillard and Tina A (Ring) Dillard. He attended South Sioux City High School until he was drafted into the United States Army. Brad was stationed at the Black Horse Base Camp during the Viet Nam War from July 13, 1966 to June 28, 1968.
Brad’s first job was with John LaRos, Land Surveyor, in South Sioux for several years and then worked for Sioux Plating Company for 12 years, and in 1987 he worked as a maintenance worker for the City of Sioux City until his retirement in March 2011.
He married Norma Allyn on April 5, 1974 at the Gospel Lighthouse in South Sioux City. To this union, they had two sons, Bradford Jr. and Nate.
Brad attended Loving Faith Fellowship since 1987, where he was a deacon in the church for about 25 years. He also was a member of the Sioux Falls DAV and the NRA.
Brad’s favorite pastime was to spend time with his family. His hobbies were welding, remodeling, and mowing their property.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Norma; 2 sons: Bradford Jr. (Jenny) and Nate; three grandchildren: Eli, Lyric and Caleb; brother-in-law, Norman Allyn Jr.; sisters-in-law: Sharon (Steve) Miller and Dorothy (Rick) Hanslip. He is also survived by several special uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; father-in-law, Norman Allyn Sr.; mother-in-law, Genevieve Bishop; and aunt, Colleen Dillard.
