Bradley Scott Linton of Enterprise, KS died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, also at the chapel. Burial with full military honors will be at Logan Park Cemetery.
Bradley was born September 23, 1968, in Sioux City, IA, he was the eldest son of Larry E. Linton and Janice K. Linton (Morris) of Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from West High School in 1987. After graduating, he enlisted in the Army, serving at Fort Carson, CO for a year before transferring to the former West Germany. While stationed in Germany, Bradley was sent to Saudi Arabia as part of 1st Brigade 3 Armored Division to fight in the Persian Gulf War against the Iraqi Army. When he returned to Germany, he left the Army to marry the former Brenda Leigh. After 10 months of being free from active service, he and Brenda married and Bradley rejoined the army, shipping off with his new bride to Fort Campbell, KY. While there, their first daughter, Paisleigh was born. Bradley was then sent overseas again, this time to South Korea. He returned a year later to Fort Carson, CO where his second daughter, Morgan, was born less than a year later. The family moved several times afterwards until finally Bradley found himself in South Korea once again when the Twin Towers fell. Two years later, Bradley would deploy to Iraq with 1st Brigade Infantry Division as the Brigade Fire Support NCO in Ramadi during the Anbar Awakening. He would deploy two more times to Iraq, next with the 4th Brigade 1st Calvary Division to Mosul, Iraq, and the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, Taji, Iraq. After this last deployment, he would retire from the Army, but continued serving as a Defense Contractor, going to Afghanistan for a total of four years. Some of his decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal with V device.
Bradley also enjoyed writing, having written several novels. He also enjoyed working in his small orchard and vineyard as well as fishing and hunting.
Those left to honor his memory are his parents; two daughters, Paisleigh G. Linton and Morgan P. Linton, both of Seattle, WA. Additionally, a brother, Larry E. Linton Jr. of College Station, TX; a sister, Kimberley K. Beem of Hornick, IA; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a younger brother, David W. Linton of Sioux City, IA, and grandparents, Chuck and Ellen Morris and Bill and Edna Linton.
