Brent Hunter, 49, of Sioux City passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Family Worship Center, 1315 Indian Hills Dr. with Pastor Bill Yanney officiating.
On November 18, 1969 – at Discovery hospital in Roodeport, South Africa; Vernon Brent Hunter was the fourth child born to Bernard Dael Hunter and Wilhelmina Frederika Hunter (Vickie). Brent lost his mother when he was one year old.
Thirteen years later, after the loss of his step-mother Elise, the Hunter brood moved across the sea to Sioux City Iowa. In 1984, when Dael re-married, Brent gained two more family members with step-mother Debbi and step-sister Denise.
After the numerous shenanigans Brent pulled in high school, he joined the U.S. Army. Soon after he met Tammy Randolph at a house party where their fun-loving personalities clicked. Brent married Tammy in 1995. In 1994, he and Tammy were blessed with their first son Austin. True to the Hunter fashion, their second son Cole was born just a year later.
After one tour in Germany and two sunny tours in Afghanistan, Brent completed his service to the U.S. government.
Although he enjoyed his job as a diesel mechanic, Brent spent his free time riding his bike with the Patriot Guard Riders and the Ride or Die club. He was an active member at his church Family Worship Center and served in the National Guard.
Brent’s bold and enthusiastic nature could be heard echoing throughout the Cornhusker stadium often. A true adventure seeker at heart, he was always getting a thrill out of trips with his sons and his friends from World Venture. Always the life of the party, Brent lit up the room when he arrived, greeting everyone with bear hugs and belly laughs.
Brent is survived by his two sons, Austin and Cole, his parents Dale and Debbi Hunter, his siblings Mark Hunter and spouse Marlene, Warren Hunter and spouse Kayla, Daelene Paddock and spouse Don, Paige "Bernadine" Tillotson and spouse Brian, Denise King , Faith Hall and spouse Adam ; along with his fourteen nephews and four nieces – all of which he loved to joke and laugh with.
