Brian Michael Erickson

October 2, 1991 — October 28, 2024

Sioux City, Iowa

Brian Michael Erickson, 33, of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. His vibrant spirit and unwavering enthusiasm for life will be cherished deeply by the many lives he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Brian's life on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior at the church. It will be a time to share memories, celebrate his life, and remember the love he so freely gave to those around him.

Brian's journey began on October 2, 1991, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of Randy and Sandra (Borchers) Erickson. He developed a profound love for the outdoors, and found joy in exploring the beauty of nature, particularly in the mountains of Colorado and the Eleven Mile Canyon. Brian's adventurous spirit was matched only by his passion for gaming. Whether it was diving into epic quests or engaging in lively discussions about the latest politics and news while listening to podcasts or enjoying music, Brian had a zest for life that drew people to him.

Brian graduated from North High School in 2010 and furthered his education at Western Iowa Tech Community College before attending Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville, Florida. He dedicated himself to his career with determination, working at various companies, with his last position being at SmithCo in Le Mars. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Brian's love for family was immeasurable. He cherished Saturday mornings spent with his mom, as well as family gatherings over Sunday dinners. He is survived by his loving family, including his devoted mom and stepdad, Sandra and Mick Murphy, his grandmother, Rose Borchers, and his beloved siblings: Ryan (Ann) Baker, Jennifer (Marc) Pankratz, Jason (Jenny) Erickson, Brandon (Mallory) Sturges, Nick Murphy, Alicia (Mike) Hadfield, and Ben Erickson. Brian also held a special place in his heart for his aunt, Vicki Shaiffer, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Though Brian's father, Randy Erickson; grandparents, Odalite & Loren Erickson and Reuben Borchers along with three special uncles, Ken Shaiffer, Parris Erickson, and Kendall Erickson, have passed, their love and wisdom are essential parts of his legacy. They shaped his character and instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life.

Brian lived a life filled with richness and love. He may have left this world too soon, but the memories he created and the impact he had will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
