C. Richard "Dick" Miller

March 30, 1931 — April 9, 2021

Charles Richard “Dick” Miller, 90 of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jim Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Park Cemetery with Military Honors by United States Air Force.  A reception will be at the Masonic Temple, 820 Nebraska Street, starting at 1:00 p.m. following the graveside service.  Visitation will be on Friday, April 16th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present at 6:00 p.m. and evening services, including Masonic Service and Order of Easter Star Service, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Dick was born on March 30, 1931 in Sioux City to Charles F. and Eunice (Barber) Miller.  He graduated with the Class of 1949 from Central High School.  Dick served in the United States Air Force for four years, receiving his honorable discharge in September of 1954.  He attended night-college where he met his wife, Martha Duchouquette.  The two were married on June 5, 1954 in El Paso, Texas.  The couple relocated to Sioux City where they enjoyed 59 years of marriage when Martha passed in 2013. 

Dick owned and operated Charley Miller Body Shop which was started by his father in 1929, and was operated until 2004.  He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge 615 in Morningside, and a past master of Masonic Landmark Lodge 103, and was currently the Worthy Patron of Silver-Azure 548 Order of Eastern Star.  Dick enjoyed 68 years in the Masons, and was a member of the Flying Fezz, Shriners, Oriental Band, and flew for the Hospital Dads.  Dick was a 32nd degree of Scottish Rite, High Twelve Consistory, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, a member of the Siouxland Business Leaders in Sioux City, and enjoyed his membership to Sertoma Club.

Dick was an avid hunter, fisherman, and pilot.  Dick flew his airplane until age of 80, rode his motorcycle until age of 88, and was an avid lover of Ford Mustangs.   

Dick is survived by his sons Charles R. “Bob” Miller (Stacy) of Florence, AZ, Patrick L. Miller of Sioux City, and Daniel J. Miller of Granby, CO; fiance’ of seven years, Jeannette Olsen of Sioux City; sisters Lois M. Miller (Robert) of Sun City, AZ, Doris Cameron (Bill) of Tulsa, OK, and Edna M. Lacy of Tulsa, OK; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Martha.
