Carol J. Beck

   Carol Joan Beck Adelia Rose Godfrey, 80, began her journey home February, 7th 2020 while surrounded by her loved ones at her residence in Sioux City, IA

   A remembrance of life will be held Tuesday, February, 11th beginning at 11am at St. Paul’s Indian Mission in Sioux City.

   Carol was born in Wagner, SD to Edward Godfrey Sr. and Carrie Louise Primeaux from Charles Mix County in SD. She was raised on a farm in St. Charles, SD and was the youngest of 12 children. Carol received her GED then went on to further her education at USD, majoring in early childhood development. She later worked at the head start program in Milks Camp at rural St. Charles SD. She later ventured to Sioux City, IA where she worked at IBP for a time and then in Chicago IL having multiple jobs at the Sears Tower before becoming a homemaker.

   Carol bore 8 children: Mary Godfrey of Billings MT, C. Louise Butler, Dennis Irvin, Dena Irvin Young, Doreen Irvin, Donald Irvin Jr (deceased), Dustin Irvin and Darlene Irvin Stordahl all of Sioux City. She was also the proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

   As she makes her journey, she is welcomed by her parents; common law husband; a son; 3 grandchildren; 10 siblings; as well as many aunties; uncles; cousins; a niece; and nephews.

   Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Aunty you will truly be missed.
