Carolyn Menage

Carolyn Menage, 74 of Dakota Dunes, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022.  A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service time at the funeral home.  

Carolyn was born the daughter of Ralph W. and Betty (Bale) Warner on June 26, 1948 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  She graduated from West Lyon High School in 1966.  She then attended Drake University for two years before transferring and graduating from Black Hills State College in 1970.  Carolyn married Michael “Mick” Menage on September 21, 1968 in Larchwood, Iowa. 

Carolyn’s life was teaching.  She was the Title One Reading teacher starting in Hemet, California then Wall Lake, Iowa before she taught at Odebolt-Arthur and then took on the additional responsibilities as curriculum director for the school system until her retirement.  

Carolyn had a serious passion for reading.  She read over 4,000 books in her lifetime. 

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Michael “Mick” Menage of Dakota Dunes; sons, Scott (Ashley) Menage of Brandon, South Dakota and Brad (Keri) Menage of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings, Bev Burrus, Jan (Bill) Blue, and Bill Warner (Lori Briese); and grandchildren, Matsen, Treven, and Ella.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
