Catheriine A."Kitty" Krueger-Johnson

It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine “Kitty” A. Krueger-Johnson, of North Sioux City, South Dakota announce her passing on November 25th, 2021 at the age of 65, while traveling home after visiting family with her husband by her side.

Catherine was born January 9th, 1956 in Key West, Florida; the fourth child of Larry and Creola Trojan. She was lovingly known as Kitty. 

Kitty graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1975 where she earned a Medical Technologist Degree and a Master’s Degree in Microbiology. Kitty took great pride in her advanced education and the contributions she made to multiple medical laboratories over her career. She worked as a lab supervisor at multiple laboratories and a blood bank specialist. She married her best friend, Mark K Johnson on July 11th, 1987. 

Kitty struggled with health challenges for many years choosing to measure her life with milestones in her children’s lives whom she was very close with. She was a devoted wife, mother and new grandmother.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Mark; her two children, Sarah and David; her daughter-in-law Kady along with her granddaughter, Adelynn; as well as her four siblings: Mike, Pat, Jean, and Barbara; nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. 

Kitty was preceded in death by both her parents.

A celebration of her life will be held at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska on Tuesday, December 7th at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
