Cathie Lynette (Doenhoefer) Schonrock-Caskey, 73, of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in her home surrounded by family. She now graces Heaven’s trail ride with fellow loved ones. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jon Montgomery officiating. Cathie was born on December 14, 1949, in Winnebago, Nebraska to John and Evelyn (Traub) Doenhoefer. She grew up and attended school in Winnebago, and then made her home in Sioux City. She married Eldon Caskey on June 26th, 2010. Cathie had a lifelong career as a residential housekeeper in Siouxland. She enjoyed archery, camping, trail riding, winning at the casino, and spending time with friends and family at the Nottleman Auction and flea market. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she truly kept the family together. Most of all she enjoyed cooking holiday meals for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon “Al” Caskey; children: Bernie Wittern (Lexi), Brian Caskey (Theresa), Tonya Munoz (Pablo), and Dakota Caskey (Aleah); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; including Annabella and Ariella Schonrock; siblings: Tony Doenhoefer (Geneva), Doug Doenhoefer (Sherry), and James Doenhoefer; several special nieces and nephews; including John, Micheal and Justin Short, Roxanne (Gary) Baber, Micheal (Judy) McGready), and Sheila Stidd Shearer.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Evelyn; children: John Matthew Schonrock and Jennifer Caskey; and siblings Robert Doenhoefer, Bernard “Bud” Doenhoefer, Gene Doenhoefer, Charlotte and Scott Short.
