Charlene Thereasa (Crippen) Watkins, 69 of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, with Deacon Fred Karpuk as Prayer Leader. Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date.

Charlene was born on February 2, 1955 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Ronald and Guadalupe (Lerma) Crippen. She received her education in the Sioux City Public School System attending elementary school at Riverside and graduated from West High School. After her move from Alaska, she’s been a resident of Iowa or Nebraska her entire life. Her first marriage from 1975 until 1984 graced her with a son, Gary Ogden. Her second marriage from 1989 until 1992, blessed her with her daughter Tiffany Watkins. 

Charlene worked for Tyson in the office for over 30 years. After her retirement, she worked part-time for Walmart for over 8 years, and for the last 15 years, she has dedicated her life to her two grandsons, Brennan and Braedan. 

Charlene is survived by her daughter Tiffany and her son Gary; sister Gina (Huck) Crippen; brother Michael Crippen; grandsons Brennan and Braedan Iron Shell; and granddaughter Kelsey (Ogden) Reilly. 

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Maryann Crippen and Brenda Crippen, two brothers Steve Crippen and Ronald “Pork” Crippen.
