Charlotte A. Barnes

Charlotte A. Barnes, 83, of Whiting, IA, passed away November 23, 2021, at Casa De Paz in Sioux City. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 4^th at 12:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Charlotte was born on August 7, 1938 in Rolla, MO to Robert and Gladys Jones.  The family moved to Sioux City in 1944 where she graduated from East High Class of 56’. She enjoyed quilting, tending to her flower garden, yardwork and bird watching at the FunnyFarm near Whiting, IA. She retired from Wilson Trail 2003 She was a dedicated member of Southern Hills Baptist Church.  On March 29, 1957, Charlotte was united in marriage with Warren “Pete” Barnes in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 2018.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Deborah Barnes of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Gregory (Annette) Barnes of Jefferson, S.D., “brother from another mother,” Jon (Tracy) Wych, Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several other relatives and lots of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Pete, stepdad Bruno Carstedt, and brother Thomas Jones.
