Charlyne McKivergan

Charlyne McKivergan, 96, of Hubbard, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021.  A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time.  

Charlyne was born the daughter of Ben and LuLu (Harris) Krause on April 6, 1925 at home in Winnebago, Nebraska.  She attended Krause Rural School in Winnebago and graduated from South Sioux City High School.  Charlyne married Joseph “Joe” M. McKivergan on October 5, 1946 in Strubel, Iowa.  After their marriage, they made their home in South Sioux City before moving to the farm in Hubbard, Nebraska.  Joe passed away February 28, 2015.

Over the years Charlyne worked for Toy National Bank, Nebraska State Bank, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.  She also enjoyed helping Joe on the farm.

Charlyne was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hubbard.  She was also a lifetime member of Harty McNally Auxiliary, active in Extension Club in Hubbard, and an avid 4-H supporter.

Charlyne is survived by her children, Judy Bottger of Hubbard and Terry (Kay) McKivergan of Yuma, Arizona; grandchildren, Michael (Maria) McKivergan of Yuma, Arizona, Jeff (Barb) Bottger of Gainsville, Texas, and Joani Bottger and friend, David L. Wells of Hubbard; great-grandchildren, Dagny, Maylie, and Michael McKivergan of Yuma, Arizona and Genna and Joe Kramer and Jace Bottger of Hubbard; and sister, Marjory Bailey of San Diego, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joe.
