Claudette J. "Andy" Corkin, 79, of Dakota City, NE passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 surrounded by her family.Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. with a service at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE with Father Michael Keating officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Claudette was born on March 22, 1938 in Laurel, NE, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Thompson) Anderson. She grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1956. She married William Corkin on December 28, 1957 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE. To this union five children were born. Claudette worked as a legal secretary, retiring from Fitch Law Office in 2008.She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, gardening, scrapbooking, and she loved to read.Survivors include her children, Barbara Corkin and Carla Corkin of South Sioux City, NE, Brenda (Darrel) Schademan of St. Joseph, MO, Bill Corkin of Dakota City, NE and Robert (Diane) Corkin of Jackson, NE; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Jordon, Cassondra, Dylan and Zoe; 8 great-grandchildren, Corby, Marcus, Marley, Hadley, Cavan, Jack, Vivian and Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews.Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Minnie Anderson; her husband, William Corkin in 2014; sisters, Phyllis Maloney and Anita Casey; and brothers, Arlen and Robert Anderson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
