Constance Joanne Nelson

   Constance Joanne Nelson, 84, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.    Constance was born on July 3, 1937 to Richard and Edna Newhouse in Sioux City, Iowa.  She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1955.  She moved to Toledo, Ohio and begin her college career at the University of Toledo. 

   September 7, 1958, she married Wilton Frederick Nelson at Whitfield United Methodist Church in Sioux City.  They moved to Dakota City, Nebraska.  Constance was employed by Dakota City Courthouse as a case worker.  They had 4 children: Tanya Marie, Suzanne Kay, Patricia Joanne & Frederick Wilton. 

   In 1966 they purchased a farm in Pender, Nebraska where the family made their home. While in Pender, Constance worked on the farm, as a cook and medical secretary at the Pender hospital.  After 14 years of farming the couple retired from farming and moved to Sioux City.  Constance worked at St. Luke’s Medical Center in the billing department.  Later, Constance worked at Family Practice as a medical secretary in billing and insurance coding.  Constance was active in church activities, she enjoyed community theatre and enjoyed spending time with her family. 

   She is survived by her 3 children: Suzanne Kay Nelson-O’Donnell of Omaha, NE, her 4 children: Emily O’Donnell-Pazderka (Josh), Andrew, John, Adam. 

   Patricia JoAnne Beelner (Richard) of LeMars, IA.  8 children: Kayla(Ryan), David(Lisa), Hunter, Ryan(Noel), Joshua(Jessica), Jacob, Abby, Rachel. 

   Frederick Wilton Nelson (Tammy) of McKinney, TX.  Their 3 children Frederick Jr.(Courtney), Amanda & Stephanie. 

   Constance also has 4 great grandsons.

   Constance siblings; Louis Oak Newhouse(Beverly), Mary Sims(Tom), sister-in-law Diane Newhouse(Stephen) & brother-in-law Doug Hills(Julie). 

   She was preceded in death by her husband Wilton Frederick Nelson, infant daughter Tanya; her parents Richard & Edna (Yudka) Newhouse; her in-laws Frederick & Florence Nelson; her siblings; Donna Holmes(Jim), Diane Slowik(Howard), Julie Hills(Doug), Stephen Newhouse(Diane).

   The family would like to thank Pastor Bob Dillman and Hospice of Siouxland and the many people who assisted her throughout her life.
