Dale G. Anderson, 86, of Dakota City, NE passed away at a Sioux City hospital on Friday, April 20, 2018.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Douglas Dill officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord, NE. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Dale was born on October 2, 1931 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Joseph and Marie (Christenson) Anderson. He graduated from Allen High School and farmed until he joined the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he served on the USS Essex aircraft carrier in Korea, and the Curtiss seaplane tender at Enewetak Atoll Island during the atomic bomb testing.After returning from the Navy he worked at McArthur Sheet Metal in South Sioux City, and married Ruth Gross. He worked at Interstate Air Conditioning until his retirement. Ruth passed away July 27, 1989. Dale spent the past 26 years with his life partner, Lorene Moyse.He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, the South Sioux City American Legion and VFW, the Natl. Assn. of Atomic Veterans and was President of Local 37 Sheet Metal Union for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.Survivors include his life partner, Lorene Moyse; children, Mike Murray, Carla (Marty) Behm, Diana Johnston, Tracy (Robert) Athan, Randy (Julie) Anderson; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; and a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and George Wilson.
