Damon Edward Ott

Damon Edward Ott, 64, of South Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Damon was born on April 19, 1958 in Fremont, Nebraska, to James and Peggy (Callaway) Ott. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1976.

On July 31, 1982, he married Janice A. Kilmer in Fort Dodge, IA. Janice passed away in April of 2016.

Damon worked for MidAmerican Energy Company in Telecommunications for over 30 years until his retirement in 2016. He was active with the American Legion and the Ralph Bishop baseball league volunteers from 2001-2007, and in his spare time enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time at “The River.”

He is survived by two sons: Andy Ott of Omaha, NE, and his son Archer Ott (3); Kevin Ott (Brooke) of South Sioux City, and their children Carter (4) and Paige (3 months).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, in 2016; his father, James in 2007; and his mother, Peggy in 2011.
