Dana J. Twiford

Dana J Twiford, 55, of Laurel, NE entered into rest Thursday, August 4, 2022. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Laurel, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at Laurel City Cemetery. The service will be live streamed at laurelulc.org/live-stream.  Any overflow on the day of the service may go to United Methodist Church in Laurel. 

Dana Jean Twiford was born on July 30, 1967 in Wakefield, NE to Gene and Janet (Haan) Twiford. She attended and graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 1986. After high school, Dana helped around the farm where she lived with her parents south of Laurel. Her favorite job was doing the laundry. She worked at Hillcrest Care Center in the kitchen for 20 years where she greatly loved talking and laughing with the residents. She was a lifetime member of United Lutheran Church in Laurel and was an avid Husker volleyball fan, never missing a game on TV. She loved being an aunt and spoiled all of her nieces and nephews every chance she had.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings: Todd (Judy) Twiford, Sioux City, IA, Jill Olesen (Brian Eddie), Carroll, NE, Gail (Jeff) Curry, Laurel, NE; nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Curry (Justin Janecek), Skyler (Allison) Curry, Mary Jo (Eric) Coleman, Michael (Caterina) Olesen, Laura (Wyatt) Westberg; 4 beautiful great-nephews and great-niece: Theo and Willa Curry, and Eli and Oliver Coleman, aunt Joanie Peters, Thornton, CO, cousins; Mike (Karyn) Huwe, WA state, Terry Huwe, San Francisco, CA, Jeff (Kathy) Peters, Hudson, CO, Jerry (Annette) Peters, Thornton, CO, and Cindy (Luke) Neiberger, Hudson, CO. 

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Ray and Ida Haan and Harold and Lillian Twiford, aunt Dorothy Huwe, uncles Eddie Huwe and Vern Peters. She entered into rest with her loving parents Gene and Janet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department or the Laurel Vets Club.
