Daniel Alan "Dan" Nielsen

Daniel Alan “Dan” Nielsen, 64, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 3, 2021 from heart complications. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beautiful legacy of light through his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel. Dan always lived life in the fast lane, if it wasn’t fast cars it was fast motorcycles. He was always ready to have a good time and loved catching up with friends at the Skyline. Dan always looked forward to holidays with his kids and giving some of the best hugs. He always had a wild story to tell, and life was never dull around him. He was a man that wasn’t afraid to color outside the lines.

Dan is survived by his daughters: Christie Novak, Andria Sivill (Bart Sivill), Danielle Seim (Brock Seim), and Amber Sandquist (Matthew Sandquist); grandchildren: Austin Varvais (Ashlynn Varvais), Kamaray Sivill, Kaden, Brady, Amelia, Micayla, Lauren, and Lillith; and great-graddaughter, Leilani.  

He was preceded in death by his parents: Gerald and Arlene Nielsen.

Dan touched so many lives and had some of the most amazing friends. He will be missed beyond words.
