Darlene A. Fahrenholz, 74, of Allen, NE passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at a Sioux City hospital. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2020 at Eastview Cemetery in rural Allen, Nebraska with Pastor Deb Valentine officiating.
Darlene was born on November 17, 1945 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Urban “Tiny” and Margaret Renz. She graduated from St. Gabriel Catholic School in Chicago. Darlene married Randy Benton and they were later divorced. She married Truman Fahrenholz in 1979. Truman passed away November 8, 2019. She worked at Farmer’s Coop in Allen, and as a secretary for the Allen School for many years.
She loved receiving and looking at pictures of her great-grand babies. She enjoyed sitting in her swing chair outside in the sunshine with the breeze in her hair. When she couldn’t sleep, she would stay up all night talking to her sister, Kay. She always said Kay talked too much. She loved her family and held them very close to her heart.
Survivors include her step-children, Elliott (Rebecca) Fahrenholz, Shane Fahrenholz, Chona Pallas, and Jason (Machelle) Fahrenholz; siblings, Allen (Lamia) Renz, Kay Wisecup, Patricia Keepes, and Susanna Flanagan; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Truman.
