David Clayton Miller, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Sioux City, Iowa, on October 8, 2024 at the age of 48. David, the son of Clayton and Larie (Schwartz) Miller, was born on April 5, 1976, in Sioux City. David's life was a tapestry of kindness, loyalty, and deep-seated passions that resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
David grew up in Sioux City, where he graduated from East High School. His education was marked by not only academic achievement as a merit scholar but also by his immense love for music. He showcased his vocal talents in show choir, which he embraced wholeheartedly, developing a lifelong passion for music that would remain an integral part of his identity. Following high school, he attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Professionally, David carved out a successful career in the technology field, where he worked for notable companies including Gateway, Best Buy, and most recently, Riverside Technologies, Inc. (RTI) in North Sioux City. His colleagues knew him as a dedicated professional who approached his work with the same kindness and patience that defined his personal relationships.
In addition to his career, David had a rich array of interests and hobbies. He found joy in reading, drawing, and collecting comics, pursuits that were as diverse as his vibrant personality. Music continued to be a focal point of his life.
David is survived by his parents, Clayton and Larie Miller, of Sioux City; his sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Shane Plaggemars, of Zeeland, MI; a niece, Olivia Plaggemars; a nephew, Maxwell Plaggemars; his maternal grandmother; and three aunts and their families.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather. The loss of David leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, who regarded him as a truly loyal and patient companion.
Visitation for David will be held on October 16, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM at Peace Reformed Church, located at 4100 Outer Dr. N, Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
