Dave was born September 19, 1972 in Sioux City; he was the son of Jerry and Marcia (Coe) Johnson. Dave grew up in Sioux City and graduated from North High School in 1991. He graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in Asian Studies and Economics from St. Olaf College.
On February 19, 2000, David married Leah Mattson in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Dave was involved in the family real estate development business for 25 years. He was involved in the successful development of the Lakeport Commons and Sunnybrook strip malls as well as many housing projects throughout the Siouxland Area.
He enjoyed playing golf and pitch with his good friends at the Sioux City Country Club. Dave had a passion for spending time at Lake Okoboji with the love of his life, Leah and his children Kate and A.J. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching A.J. play golf and Kate dance.
Dave always had a kind word to say about everyone and always had time to talk to everyone. We will all miss his phone calls and are confident that he and his father, Jerry, are making up for lost time.
Survivors include his wife Dr. Leah Johnson of Sioux City, his children: Kathrine and Andrew Johnson both at home; his mother: Marcia Johnson of Sioux City; his brother: Jeffrey Johnson (Jennifer) of Fort Worth, TX; his sister Jodi Johnson of Leawood,KS; as well as nieces and nephews.
