David Allen Summerlin

   David Allen “Dave” Summerlin, 74, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Correctionville Specialty Care.

   Cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned at this time.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

   David Allen, the son of James Vance and Beverly (Seaton) Summerlin, was born November 15, 1947 in Sioux City.  Dave was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School.  After high school, he served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge.  He returned to make his home in Sioux City and worked at Tyson for 44+ years until his retirement.

   Throughout the years, Dave took several art classes.  He was a very talented artist and shared many of his master pieces with family.  Some of his other hobbies included: restoring old sports cars, taking care of his beautiful yard and flowers, and listening to music.  He also enjoyed eating ice cream each night.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

   He is survived by his siblings: Rosemary Davis, Myra Woggon (Luke), Russell Summerlin (Jan), Debborah Ozga (Marty), Doug Summerlin, Teresa King, and Lance Summerlin (Tracy); and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.
