David was born on September 14, 1961 in Hawarden, Iowa to Raymond and Dorothy (Miedema) VanWyhe.  He graduated from West Sioux High School in 1980.  David attended Western Iowa Tech Community College and studied auto mechanics.

Dave farmed with his dad until 1997 when he moved to Sioux City, Iowa.  He worked at Wilson Trailer as a welder, and most recently at MercyOne.

David married Judy Sitzman on June 12, 1998.  They made their home in Sioux City where they welcomed their son Ryan on January 18, 2001.

Dave enjoyed life at the lake, especially his “beloved” jet ski.  He also enjoyed family time and was an avid fan of all sports.  His favorite athlete was his son, Ryan.  Dave was absolutely the loudest spectator at the events, particularly football.

David is survived by his wife Judy, son Ryan, and pup Gracie; parents Raymond and Dorothy VanWyhe; brother Kevin (Fran) VanWyhe; several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many other relatives and friends.
