   Dawn Dee Stankey, 53, of Sioux City, IA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday February 25, 2021 at Dunes Surgical Center due to complications from surgery.

   A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 4400 Central Street, in Sioux City with Reverend James Travis officiating.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

   Dawn, the daughter of John and Jacqueline (Hoefling) Pearson, was born January 2, 1968 in Waterloo, IA.  At a young age, Dawn’s family moved from Waterloo to Sioux City.  She grew up in Sioux City and attended North High School.

   Dawn was united in marriage to Larry Stankey.  Throughout her years, she was a busy homemaker raising five children.  In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing.  Above all, she cherished time with her family.

   Dawn is survived by her husband, Larry Stankey; children: David Henry Jr., Michelle Lacy, Clifton Lacy, Jerod Lacy and fiancée Lena, and Mickayla Lacy and fiancé Kyle Loebsack; grandchildren: Melody Henry, Serenity Lacy, Damien, Karter, Faith, Duncan, Jaxon, John, Kyle, Noah, and David III; stepson, Larry D. Stankey her mother, Jackie Pearson; and siblings: Chad Pearson and special friend Beth, Brady Pearson, and Kris Pearson.

   She was preceded in death by her father, John Pearson; grandparents, Harold and Lauretta Hoefling; one child in infancy, Mackenzie; and many aunts and uncles.

   Memorials may be directed to Calvary Lutheran Church, 4400 Central Street  Sioux City, IA 51108.
