Dean Daniels

Dean Daniels, 75, of Ponca, NE passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Peter Speiser officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.Dean Daniels was born in rural Hornick, IA on May 15, 1941, the son of Charles and Mary Frances (Graybill) Daniels. He attended school in the Hornick area. Dean married Dorothy Jansen on June 25, 1961 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute, IA. The couple lived in Iowa before moving to Ponca in 1964. Dean worked in the auto body repair business, working for Charlie Miller Body Shop and O.N. Knerl and Sons before he owned and operated his own business, Dean's Auto Body from 1987 to 2000.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on antique tractors and spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Daniels of Ponca, NE; children, Mark "Bud" (Lisa) Daniels of Wayne, NE, Brenda (Kent) Eslick of Emerson, NE, Marcia Millard and her special friend, Ryan Saegebarth of Jackson, NE, Annette Schnoor of Ponca, NE, Nancy (Trevin) Wimmer of Ponca, NE and Penny (Martin) Benton of Dakota City, NE; 14 grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron, Lana, Nicholas, Meghan, Connor, Casey, Tara, Abby, Steven, Lindsay, Bailey, Reid, and Matthew; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way; siblings, Don (Marilyn) Daniels of Sioux City, IA, Jerry (Shirley) Daniels of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Barbara McCubbin of Helotes, TX, Michael (Stephanie) Daniels of Clancy, Montana; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Frances Daniels; son-in-law, Alan Schnoor; sister, Betty Daniels; and brother-in-law, Larry McCubbin.
