Deborah Ann Bergen (Jensen) passed unexpectedly on October 21st, 2021 at 70 years old.
There will be a celebration of life for Deborah on December 18th 2021, and anyone that was touched by Deborah’s fun-loving spirit is invited to attend. Deborah’s two wishes were that her body be donated to the Mayo Clinic for scientific research and that she be celebrated rather than mourned. If you’d like to donate to the contribution of her wishes you can do so here: https://everloved.com/life-of/deborah-bergen-jensen/
Deborah was born on January 9th, 1951 in Sioux City Iowa, the daughter of Katherine and Harold Jensen. Deborah attended Central High School and remained close with many of her classmates from the graduating class of 1969. She graduated from nursing school in Rochester, Minnesota and practiced as a psychiatric nurse throughout her life. She lived life full of love and laughter and her biggest joys were music and dancing. Deborah was truly one of a kind, her ability to make you feel like the most special person in the world came from her genuine and giant heart full of curiosity and care. Her greatest accomplishment was that of being a mother and she was so proud of her two girls.
Deborah is survived by her daughter Saranne Frye and her husband Kyle of Kansas City, MO along with their three children Kelin, Mila and Isabelle; daughter Sydney (Sissy) Bergen and her partner who are based in Aspen, CO and spend much of their time traveling the world; brother Michael Jensen, of Sioux City, IA; half-brother Richard Jensen, of Des Moines, IA.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and her adored niece, Michelle Kukuk (Jensen).
Deborah lived by the motto – “To thine own self be true” – and would want to be remembered by the peace, love and happiness that she spread everywhere she went.
