Debra “Debi” Lynn Ross, 66, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Albaton Cemetery. Debi was born September 6, 1953 in Vermillion, SD to Wayne and Delores (Olson) Beach. She grew up in Sergeant Bluff, IA and graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in 1971. Following graduation, she earned her beautician’s certification. Shortly after, she married Gary Coil. To this union, one son was born. Gary was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, the family traveled extensively across the United States. Gary and Debi later divorced. On December 19, 1980, Debi married Vernon Ross in Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City. To this union, a son and a daughter were born.
Debi worked as a cook at St. Luke’s for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and talking on the phone for hours. She loved to cook, watch movies, get her nails done, and do the hair of her friends and family in her very own kitchen.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 38 years, Vernon of Sioux City; sons Jason Coil and James Ross of Sioux City; daughter Stacey (Juan) Angeles of Sioux City; sister Sandy (Tim) Holmberg of Sioux City; grandchildren Sierra Muckey, Jaelyn Angeles, and Kaden Angeles of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
Debi was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Donna.
