Delayne V. Ofstad, 81, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at his residence. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, from 4-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Roseni Cemetery in Rural Beresford, SD.
Delayne was born on March 13, 1938 in Beresford, SD to Joseph and Berdice (Siljenberg) Ofstad. He served in the United States Army. Delayne worked at W.A. Klinger as a carpenter for over 45 years. He was a lifelong member of the local carpenters union #948 and always seemed to be working. He enjoyed spending time with his dog and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his children: Laynie Sevier (Mark Fox), Sioux City, Angel (Todd) Monk, Sioux City, Alan Ofstad, Washington; grandchildren: Jaynie & Josie Fox, Tristan, Landan and Ashtan Monk; his stepson, Gary Sevier of Albuquerque, NM; his special friend, Shirley Green, Sioux City; his best friend and dog, Ringo; siblings: Sonja (Melvin) Gabel, JoBelle Ofstad, Clarice Ofstad, and Claude Ofstad.
He is preceded in death by his parents; significant other, Lois Sevier; and brother, Clayton.
