DELBERT AL “DEL” BIGGERSTAFF, SR. FORMERLY OF SIOUX CITY, PASSED AWAY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29TH, 2019 AT HIS RESIDENCE IN TEXAS.  GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE AT 2:00 P.M. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2019 AT MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY.  VISITATION WILL BE ONE HOUR PRIOR AT MEYER BROTHERS MORNINGSIDE CHAPEL.   

DEL WAS BORN ON JANUARY 25th, 1934 IN VERMILLION, SOUTH DAKOTA, THE SON OF ALBERT AND ANNA (JOHNSON) BIGGERSTAFF.  HE ATTENDED SIOUX CITY AND YANKTON SCHOOLS.  HE MARRIED BRENDA COOLEY ON JUNE 27, 1956.

DEL SERVED IN THE NAVY DURING THE KOREAN WAR CRISIS.  HE WAS A MEMBER OF ASBESTOS WORKERS LOCAL #57 ACTIVELY WORKING FOR 30 YEARS AND RETIRING AS AN HONORARY MEMBER IN 1990.  HE ALSO SERVED AS BUSINESS AGENT FOR THE ORGANIZATION.

DEL WAS AN OUTGOING AND FRIENDLY PERSON WHO ENJOYED MEETING PEOPLE.  HE LOVED TO TRAVEL AND VISITED COUNTRIES IN EUROPE, ASIA AND AFRICA.   HE WAS TREATED TO A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY SURPRISE PARTY IN THAILAND WHICH HE TREASURED. 

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, BRENDA; A GRANDSON, DEL AND WIFE SYLVIA; A GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER, JORDIN; 3 GREAT GRANDSONS, NOAH, DAVID, AND BEN; SISTER-IN-LAW, SANDRA MARKS; NEPHEW, CHRIS STENUM; SISTER, BONNIE (TOM) ROUSE; BROTHER, GLENN (JEANNE) BIGGERSTAFF; AND NIECE, DELORES (BOB) ROACH.

HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS SONS, DELBERT, JR. AND BRIAN; BROTHER, MELVIN BIGGERSTAFF AND SISTERS, VELMA JAHN AND MARY THOMPSON.
