Dennis Paul Bauman

Dennis Paul Bauman, 74, of South Sioux City went to heaven on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Matney's Colonial Manor.Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Gina Gile of Dakota City United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:00 A.M. Private family burial will be at a later date.Denny was born on October 26, 1941 to Paul and June Bauman at their home in Falls City, NE. In 1953 the family moved to South Sioux City. He attended St. Michael's Catholic School until high school, graduating from South Sioux in 1959. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Navy with friends, Bruz Will, Leonard Kruse, Maurice Camerer, Butch Husted and Jack O'Dell.On January 27, 1968 he was united in marriage to Margaret Shupe at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City.Denny worked for Monroe Systems for Business in Sioux City and Kansas City for 29 years. He was also a salesman at Charlie Zook Motors until retirement.He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and his grandchildren.Denny is survived by his wife, Margy of South Sioux City; daughter, Lisa (Les) Love of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Lindsie (Cody) Dryden of Huntsville, Alabama, and Logan Love of Omaha, NE; sisters, Patty Polley and Judy (Don) Saeger of South Sioux City; and a brother, Ed (Julie) Bauman of Geneseo, Ill.He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and June Bauman; daughter, Jill Marie; nieces Ann and Megan; and special hunting companion, Luka.
