Dennis L. Ghea

Dennis L. Ghea, 68, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away December 7, 2021 at his residence.  A funeral service will be held Monday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Dennis was born on February 15, 1953 in Ashland, Oregon to Thomas and Martha (Gooley) Ghea.  He graduated from Ashland, Oregon high School in 1971 and moved to South Sioux City, NE in 1985.  He was united in marriage to Rhonda Rhode on July 1, 1994 in Dakota City.  Dennis had a roofing and masonry business in town before he started working for Tyson for 20 years.  After that he went on to work for IML and retired from Purdue Premium Meats.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, riding his motorcycle and working on cars.  He especially loved spending time with his family and had set up a model train at his house for the grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Angela Ghea, Fulton, IL, Jason (Rebecca) Ghea, Sioux City, IA, Lance Ghea, Dodge, NE, step-daughter, Shannon Wichers, Le Mars, IA, step-son, Shawn (Rhonda) Huisman, WI; grandkids: Braedon and Caitlyn Wonzewitz, Ava and Emma Ghea, Ashton Lanning, Riley, Logan Wichers, Kyle, Ian, Tanner, and Dillon Huisman; 4 great-grandkids; brother, Tim Ghea and sister, Laurie Kerr, both of Oregon.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Rhonda; and brothers: Mike and Herbert Ghea.
