Dennis Samek

Dennis Samek, 67 of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021.  A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Deacon Bruce Chartier officiating.  Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to the service.  Live-stream broadcasting of the service can be viewed at:  https://youtu.be/VuFChcOolNw

Dennis was born on March 13th, 1954, to George and Agnes (Kuemper) Samek of Wimbledon, ND. He graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1972 and then attended Wahpeton School of Science, graduating with a degree in Business. After his father, George, died in 1974, Dennis took over the operations of the family farm, NW of Wimbledon. In 1977 he married Terry (Cresap).  In 2002, Dennis and his family moved to Cooperstown, ND, where he worked as a delivery driver for Tristar Dairy as well as doing maintenance for Cooperstown Medical Center. In 2004 he and Terry divorced.  In 2013, he moved to Sioux City, IA, to be near his children. In the past few years, Dennis made a point to make people smile or laugh in order to brighten their day.

He is survived by his 4 children: Carlie (Brian) Schnepel, Sioux City, IA, Craig, Lincoln, NE, Kayla, Sioux City, IA, and Kristen, Ashland, OR
