Dolores Louise DeHarty, 93, North Sioux City, SD, passed away July 14, 2022, surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 28th from 5-7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Dolores was born on March 28, 1929 in Chicago, IL to John and Ella (Wirtz) Goss. She was united in marriage to Cecil DeHarty on June 26, 1985, followed by a lasting relationship with Norb Kemp. She worked as a Key punch operator for IPS for over 30 years before retiring. Dolores was a huge baseball fan and loved watching the Cubs and Cardinals.
She enjoyed shuffle board, bowling, playing cards, puzzles and dancing. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Cherlyn Ericson of N. Sioux City, SD, and Kenneth (Eva) Secoske of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Justin Ericson of Sioux City, IA, Jessica (Ted) Griffin, of Omaha, NE, Matt (Amanda) Secoske, of Lincoln, NE, and Ben (Kortney) Secoske, of Sioux City, IA; great-grandchildren: Eleanor and Ruby Griffin; Emma, Jack, Will and Ada Secoske; Sebastian, Gyanna, Evan and Emiliano Secoske; many nieces and nephews; her second daughter Sherri (Kemp) VanPelt; Her chef, chauffeur, and helper Clay Ericson and Theresa Ericson for taking good care of Dolores.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil; loving companion Norb; siblings; brother, Ray; sisters, Genevieve, Eleanor and Louella.
The family would like to thank Hope and John at St. Croix Hospice for the care they gave to Dolores.
