Don Allen Seymour

Don Allen Seymour, 89, passed away on December 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

  Don was born on September 25, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri.  He attended public schools in the Kansas City area and went to Westminster College and Kansas University law school. Don married Marilyn (Estes) Seymour, of Kansas City, in 1962 and they moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he owned and managed the Bridgeport Corporation, an agricultural-based company.  Don enjoyed business and was very active in several local business organizations including the Rotary Club of Sioux City, Woodbury County Tax Research Foundation as well as First Presbyterian Church and Faith United Presbyterian Church.  Don and Marilyn raised their family in Sioux City where he enjoyed many lifelong friends, loyal employees and especially his many four-legged companions. Don had several interests including reading (particularly about history and World War II), nature, gardening, travel and good cuisine.

Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn, daughters Jackie Seymour of Clive, Iowa and Beth McCoy, of Sioux City, Iowa, grandchildren Danny and Erin McCoy and sister Pam Malkus (Gerry).  

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Aletha Seymour and brother, Russell, “Rusty” Seymour. 

A private graveside memorial service was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue and The Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.  Online Condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com
