Dona Rae Martinsen, 51, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Sioux City following a 6-month long battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Douglas Glass officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Dona was born July 4, 1970 in Beaver Dam, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Marlous Martinsen. In 1979, she moved to Spring, TX and later attended and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, TX in 1988. In 1990, she moved to Sioux City where she resided until her passing. Dona worked at Walmart on Singing Hills Blvd.
Dona was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren; Gabriel, Arabella, and Liliana. She enjoyed taking Arabella to dance and watching Gabriel in sports; she was their #1 fan. She loved spoiling her grandchildren most of all.
Those left to honor her memory are her children Justin (Sonia) Lynam and Matthew Lynam, both of Sioux City; grandchildren Gabriel, Arabella, and Liliana, all of Sioux City; sisters Debra of MN, Denice and Diane (Jolyssa) of Sioux City, Dawn of VA; brother Bob of FL; mother Marlous of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, boyfriend Micheal Anthony Lynam Sr., and her beloved dog, King.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the family to be placed in a college fund for Dona’s grandchildren, per her request.
