Donna K. Anderson

Donna K. Anderson, 84, of Omaha, Nebraska, and formerly of South Sioux City, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 in Omaha. A Memorial Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Donna was born on September 25, 1936 in Struble, IA, to Walter and Elsie (Trafton) Stinger. The family moved around until Walter passed away when Donna was 12, and after Elsie married Cleland Stinger in 1952 they settled in South Sioux City.  She graduated from South Sioux City High School.  After graduating she worked for the South Sioux City Chamber of CommerceOn December 19, 1958, she married Bill Anderson at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. The two lived in Sioux City until 2007, when they relocated to Omaha.

Donna was a devoted wife and mother, raising her four children until her youngest was four before reentering the work force as a lunchroom aide and then became a teacher’s aide in the Sioux City school system. She and Bill were active members of Hope Lutheran Church, with Donna being a member of the Women’s Guild as well as teaching Sunday School over the years. They also enjoyed participating in a monthly card club which included other couples from church.

In their spare time, Donna and Bill bowled on a league together. The family camped often on the weekends and during summer vacation to the state and national parks.  After retiring they would go South for the winter.  Donna loved to travel. She was a boisterous personality, and always spoke her mind with grace.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bill Anderson of Omaha; her children: Darin (Renee) Anderson of Omaha; Lori Anderson of Omaha; and Andrew Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Blaine Anderson; three  brothers and two sisters.
