Donna M. Cain

Donna M. Cain, 64, of South Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020.  A memorial mass will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery.  

Donna was born the daughter of Ed and Zella (Sanford) O’Shaughnessy on January 26, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She attended St. Michael grade school and graduated from South Sioux City High School.  She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a teaching degree.  Donna married Lloyd Cain, Jr. on December 22, 1989 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  They made their home in South Sioux City.

Donna taught at Winnebago for 29 years until her retirement.  Teaching was more than a career for her, it was a passion.  In retirement she went back to school to study photography.

Donna enjoyed taking many pictures out in nature.  She loved quilting, art and painting, and traveling with her husband.  She was a devoted mother to her son, Michael.

Donna is survived by her husband, Lloyd Cain of South Sioux City; son, Michael O’Shaughnessy of South Sioux City; and brother, Bill (Carla) O’Shaughnessy of San Jose, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Pat.
