Donna M. Kobes, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Donna, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Hayes) Kann, was born May 9, 1934 in Danbury, IA. Donna’s family made their home in the Danbury area until moving to Sioux City. She attended St. Boniface Grade School in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School.
On August 5, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to Harry L. Kobes in Sioux City. This union was blessed with three children and the family made their home in Sioux City. Donna was a busy homemaker and later worked at Younkers in the cosmetic and photography departments.
Donna was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, golfing with her friends, reading, and crocheting. In retirement, Donna and Harry enjoyed traveling. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her pets.
She is survived by her children: Lori (Tom) Marsh, Kelly (Johnette) Kobes, and Timothy (Tina) Kobes all of Sioux City; grandchildren: Sarah (Mike) Ohrtman, Shannon Kobes, Brandon Kobes, Christopher (Meghan) Kobes, Kadi (Dana) Baldridge, Shawn Kobes, Leah (Paul Henderson) Kobes, and Shane Kobes; great grandchildren: Zoie, Aiden, Dax, Ava, Anderson, Levi, Noah, and Rachel; brother, Roger Kann; and sister, Marilyn Hoberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; brother, Fred Kann; sister, Joyce (Jerry) Blackshear; sister-in-law, Sharon Kann; and brother-in-law, Steve Hoberg.
