Donna M. Meyers

Donna M. Meyers, 68, of South Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Donna was born the daughter of Valen and Arlene (Knudsen) Christensen on December 13, 1952 in Harlan, Iowa.  She graduated from Irwin Kirkman High School and completed dental hygienist school at Iowa Western.  Donna married Rick Meyers on September 22, 2001 in Sioux City. 

She worked for Hirschbach and Keizer Refrigeration/Mid-States Utility in the trucking industry for about 30 years.  She formed special relationships with her coworkers and enjoyed her time with them very much.

Donna enjoyed riding motorcycle with Rick and spending the last several winters in Arizona.  She was passionate about children which led to her being a foster parent and her grandchildren being the center of her life.  She enjoyed spending time with them and going to their football, baseball, and dance events.

Donna was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and prayer circle.  She was very patriotic and enjoyed volunteering her time at the American Legion in various events.

Donna is survived by her husband, Rick Meyers of South Sioux City; children, Sam (Dianne) Sattizahn and Sara Sattizahn all of Sioux City; siblings, Janet Hiatt of West Bend, Wisconsin, Steve (Sandi) Christensen of Hatton, North Dakota, Bruce (Tina) Christensen of Harlan, Iowa, and Brian Christensen of Vermontville, Michigan; beloved grandchildren, Reise, Brysen, Alex, Shelby, Lindsey, Jessica, and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
