Doris Ann Pagan of South Sioux City, NE passed away Tuesday, May 12th 2020 at Regency Square Care Center after a lengthy illness. Private family services will be held.
Doris was born on March 8, 1942 in Wynot, Nebraska. She spent most of her adult life in Kingsley, Iowa; LeMars, Iowa and South Sioux City, Nebraska. She worked on assembly lines at Windcharger and Johnson Biscuit Company, waitressed at Archie’s Wayside, and sold women’s retail at 3 Sisters. In 1970, Doris married Justo (Jim) Pagan.
Doris enjoyed golfing with Jim who taught her the sport. They enjoyed their time together very much. She was an excellent cook; her apple pies were the best. Doris also enjoyed knitting afghans and baby sweaters. One of her fondest memories was of a vacation she took with Jim to Hawaii. They got to see Don Ho singing “Tiny Bubbles” and visited a volcano which was one of the highlights of their lives together.
She is survived by one sister, Hildegard Anderson of South Sioux City, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded into death by her husband, Justo (Jim) Pagan; parents Ado and Josephine Koch; brothers Cletus Koch of Fordyce, NE and Anthony (Tony) Koch of South Sioux City, NE; sisters Hilaria Dickes and Lorraine Derby both of South Sioux City, NE; sister Sylvia Kjenstad of Omaha, NE.
