Dorothy G. Rasmussen, 85, of South Sioux City, NE passed away at Regency Square Care Center on Thursday, March 15, 2012.Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Randy Rasmussen officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Dorothy was born on October 11, 1926 in rural Clements, MN, the daughter of Einer W. and Anna M. (Thorston) Nelsen. She lived in New Ulm, MN most of her life. Dorothy married Victor Rasmussen on May 15, 1947. The couple farmed near Morgan, MN into the1960's. After farming, the couple continued to live on the farm while they worked in New Ulm. Dorothy worked for 3-M for 20 years before retiring. After Victor passed way in 1986, she worked as a nanny. In her later years she moved to Vermillion to be closer to her family, before moving to Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, where she resided for the past year.Survivors include one daughter, Connie Bradshaw of Carrollton, TX; sons, Steven (Susan) Rasmussen of Omaha, NE and Randy (Shelli) Rasmussen of Homer, NE; one brother, James (Phyllis) Nelsen of Springfield, MN; one sister, Jeannette (Phillip) Jensen of Springfield, MN; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor; one son, Victor, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Tammie Rasmussen; granddaughter, Amanda Rasmussen; and one sister, Audrey Green.
