He lived in Pender until his family moved to Ponca when he was 5 years old. He graduated from Ponca High School in 1990 then later attended WITCC in Mapleton, IA, where he earned his electrician certification. Doug married Jaime O'Neill on September 1, 2001 in Ponca. He worked at Wilson Trailers, Mid-States Electric, and was currently working at Interbake Foods, although he loved his time off.Doug was deeply committed to involvement in his community and his family. He was always eager to help and had recently joined the Ponca Volunteer Fire Department. He laughed a lot as he coached his sons and other preschoolers in soccer. He was actively involved with Salem Lutheran Church, where he and Jaime had lead Trevor's youth group. He was involved in Eli's Cub Scouts. He liked to unwind outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, and skiing (except for that broken leg). He loved fast-things--after "mom" and "dad", his first word was "mor'cycle." He always had a project to work on, although many of them were in boxes, in parts, or in the planning process. He made beautiful things out of wood. He enjoyed blowing up lots of money on the 4th of July with his brothers and friends. Family vacations were special to him; they had just returned from Disneyworld earlier this month.Survivors include his wife, Jaime; children, Trevor, Eli and Noah; his parents, Dave (Skip) and Carol Watchorn; brothers, Dave (Chip) (Missy), Dean (Robyn), and Dan, all of Ponca; one sister, Cara of Yellowstone National Park; grandparents, David R. and Belva Watchorn; mother-in-law, Becky Parks (Larry Wolf); father-in-law, Michael O'Neill; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Pat) Hartman, Megan Jimenez and Mikel Ardley; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Chelle) O'Neill and Tom Parks; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Dorothy (Duncan) Casey; and uncle, Joel Casey.
