Dale was born June 5, 1946 in Sioux City, the son of Louis and Bessie Geraldine (Van Syoc) Peterson. He graduated from Lawton High School and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dale married Connie Johnson on December 10, 1967 in Davenport, Iowa.
Dale owned and operated Peterson Chiropractic in Sioux City before moving his practice to Springfield, Missouri. There he began a printing business which he continued to own and operate. He greatly enjoyed interacting with customers. The couple eventually returned to Sioux City where Dale continued his business and practice. With work being Dale's passion he never "officially" retired. Dale was truly committed to his service as a church Elder for many years, and enjoyed practicing natural health and studying the teachings of Jesus. He served on the Woodbury County Library Board and was elected as board president, a position his father once held.
Survivors include his wife Connie Peterson of Lawton, Iowa; children: Angela (John) Christen; Todd (Kristin) Peterson and their son Elijah; Tana (John) Larson and their children: Zoey (Sam) Jordison, Briggs Gard, Larson Gard, Enoch Gard, and Tansey Gard; Rhett (Pat) Peterson; and Chase Peterson; sister Karen Thomsen and her children: Pam Drummond, Patrice Thomsen, and Jeff Thomsen; and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Peterson.
