Edward P. "Philip" Schwegler, 51, of rural Hubbard, NE passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence, while surrounded by his family.A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Edward was born on July 18, 1965 in Ames, IA, the son of Edward and Constance (Ronfeldt) Schwegler. He graduated from Homer High School in Homer, NE and earned his Associate's Degree in Aviation Mechanics in Sydney, NE. He worked for Burlington-Northern-Santa Fee Railroad for eleven years. Ed married Deb Reilly on June 5, 1993 in Latham Park in Sioux City, IA. They settled in rural Hubbard and were blessed with 1 daughter and 5 grandchildren.He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed shooting, building rat-rods, airboats, cannons for the 4th of July and planting trees. Ed also loved to fish and hunt and was a gatherer of treasures.Survivors include his wife, Deb Schwegler; mother, Connie Bean; father and step-mother, Ed (Sue) Schwegler; grandmother, Letha Ronfeldt; daughter, Regina (Tim) Grover; 5 grandchildren, Austin, Bailey, Scout, Addie and Bear; sisters, Angela Riley and Jennifer (Brian) Benjamin; step-brother, Bill Bean; step-sister, Wendy (Bob) Bender; half-brother, Paul (Nicki) Schwegler; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his step-father, William Bean; grandfather, Mason Ronfeldt; and a nephew, Eion Riley.In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Hospice of Siouxland.
