Edwin Paul Herbst

Edwin P. Herbst, 87 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Westwood Care Center. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Todd Schlitter officiating.  Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps.  Refreshments will follow at the Funeral Home Dining Hall. Edwin was born on September 16, 1937 in South Sioux City, Nebraska to John and Irene (McHone) Herbst. Following his education in the South Sioux City Public Schools, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After receiving his honorable discharge three years later, he returned to Siouxland, continued his education to become an Orthotist. 

Edwin married Jeannie Conley on June 3, 1961 in South Sioux City, Nebraska at St. Michael Catholic Church, to this union, three children were born. He found great rewards working in the medical industry as he measured, fit, and made unique orthotics for his clients. Edwin continued to work, even after his retirement, being a currier for the St. Luke’s Lab for over 8 years. He enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, fishing, painting, along with camping and various craft projects around the home.

Edwin is survived by his children Karin Ramirez, Paul Herbst, and Stacey Webb, all of Sioux City, Iowa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Clifford John Herbst.
