Eldred H. “George” Holck, 95, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. George was born March 31, 1927 in Pipestone, Minnesota, to William F. and Dora C. (Appeldorn) Holck. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1944. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged on July 10, 1946. He married Eileen Raub on June 20, 1953. They were blessed to spend the next 57 years together until her passing in 2010. George worked for the Pipeline and then IPS for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, gardening, doing projects, and drinking a cold beer. George and Eileen enjoyed 15 years at their winter home in sunny Arizona. He is survived by his five children: Sandy (Loren) Likes of Cedar Rapids; Bill (Mary Jane) Holck of Merrill; Pam (Tim) Gerhardt of Schaumburg, IL; Thomas Holck of Sioux City; and Julie Mozak of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Raub; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; his parents; and three siblings and their spouses: Willis (Mildred) Holck; Doretta (Julius) Unrau; and Mary June (Curly) Collette.
