Elizabeth A. Bigham

Elizabeth A. Bigham, 83, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at a South Sioux City nursing home.Services will be held at 11:30 A.M., with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service, on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Tom Rich officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Elizabeth was born in Sioux City, IA on June 20, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Downs) York. She attended South Sioux City schools. Elizabeth married Clyde Bigham in Sioux City, IA on July 31, 1948. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of South Sioux City. Clyde passed away on September 28, 2000.Elizabeth loved spending time with her grand and great-granddaughters, Katie and Lilly, watching T.C. play baseball, Nebraska football, and going to the Senior Center to visit with friends, when able. She was well known for making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and shipped them all over the world.She was a charter member of the South Sioux City Eagles Auxiliary.Survivors include son, Mark (Susan) Bigham and their family, Eric (Andy) and Carrie, and Drew (Brittney) Bigham, all of Lincoln, NE; son, Tim (Rhonda) Bigham and their family, Katie and Lilly Bigham, and T.C. Bigham and his special friend Becca Cantrell, all of South Sioux City, NE; special nephew, Randy (Paula) Gremillion; and several other nieces and nephews.Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Earl) Gremillion, and Virginia "PeeWee" (Swede) Olson; and a stillborn brother, Timothy.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nebraska Childrens Home.
